Well, there are two cases: Old LaTeX2 names that may help migrating to
LaTeX3. These notes may disappear some time. The other case is renaming
of primitives – if someone reads the luaTeX manual he has to know how to
use this in LaTeX3. The first approach to find this is searching the
documentation for the name of the primitive. If this does not help –
well, you're lost. So I think it's important to note what primitives
goes where.
Also, nothing is lost giving this extra information.
