hrrmph.  i only ever use ot1 when i'm producing pdf that needs to use
cm-type outlines.

not "part of latex" but "as easily accessible as the ams/y&y/bsr ones
are".  getting them into every latex distribution then becomes the
responsibility of the packagers (who will no doubt make as good a job
of it as ever ... i really don't understand how people manage ;-).
