Hi,

after a long time and after changing from YandY to fpTeX I made an
attempt to compile xo-pfloat with the new OR (with PDFLaTeX).

I got the following error message:

[snip]
(c:/TeX/texmf/tex/latex3/xor/xo-alloc.sty

! LaTeX Error: Missing \begin{document}.

See the LaTeX manual or LaTeX Companion for explanation.
Type H <return> for immediate help.
 ...

l.29 \chardef\@kludgeins="F
                           C\relax^^M
?
[snip]

and the same for \insc@unt"FC\relax

After changing these hex values to decimal everything compiled
perfectly well. Now I'm wondering if this is well-known, a bug, or
something wrong with my setup.

BTW are there new developments concerning this stuff (OR, grid design,
etc.)?

Regards,
Ulrich Dirr
