which is because many of the people actively discussing the future of
latex were at the tug2000 conference.

this mailing list is for latex futures: please don't post working
issues about current latex here.  the usenet group comp.text.tex would
answer your question very quickly; i'll reply to you, off-list, to on
the present issue.
