Minutes of the BOM (Beetle & Otis Meeting) 15.11.2001
Participants: Daniel Baumeister, Harald Deppe, Sven Loechner,
Michael Schmelling, Uwe Stange, Ulrich Trunk,
Dirk Wiedner.
OTIS:
-----
1) The teststructure of the derandomizing buffer on BeetleSR works
stable at the nominal timing. Final results (exact timing constraints)
are expected within two weeks.
2) The available FPGA is expected to be too small for the new OTIS
control algorithm. If so, only the parts that have changed since the
last synthesis will be tested.
3) Changes needed for the OTIS to become applicable for the muon group
will not be implemented on the OTIS prototype. Consultation with the
muon group at LHCb week in December.
4) OTIS specification review scheduled for January/February 2002.
Beetle:
-------
1) First ENC measurement: 1400e + 33e/pF
Further investigations on the setup and the test channel.
2) Pulseshape scans show a channel dependent gain (15% effect). Next
steps: homogeneity scan of the gain; gain scan with internal test
pulse.
3) Topics for the upcoming Beetle user meeting:
Gap between two DataValid,
Daisy chain concept,
Beetle ID,
Error bits,
Power pads,
Choice of the new frontend,
Analog output driver,
Mask registers,
Power-up/reset procedure.
4) Random trigger test: The number of double/consecutive trigger is
too large. This is why the number of rejected trigger is greater
than expected.
Misc:
-----
1) From now on the beetle-user/design (resp. otis-user/design) mailing
lists are available: [log in to unmask],
