Minutes of the weekly Tracking Detector Readout Electronics Meeeting
17.10.2002, ASIC-Lab Heidelberg
Participants: S. Loechner, A. Srowig, U. Stange, U. Trunk
Dune:
Andre presented the schematic and some simulations of his 10bit ADC.
Ulrich mentioned that the gain of the input stage is to small (~100 for a
3-stage input).
Due to matching the use of poly-resistors in the differential amplifiers is
not the best way => change to MOSFETs
OTIS:
The patched FIB-chip is now assembled on the test-PCB. A first quick
investigation shows that the chip works fine (readout, digital signals, ...).
A new version of the OTIS testboard will be available at the end of next
week => than assembly at PI.
Beetle:
We have now 3 irradiated Beetle 1.2 chips up to 10 Mrad and 1 Beetle 1.2 up
to 30 Mrad. For these chips we have now measured different pulseshapes but
up to now we have not analyzed the data-samples.
The random trigger test is now working. Trigger rate is around 1.1 MHz.
After 4 days of "trigger consuming" the Beetle setup is still running (no
hiccup, no Fifo error). Test will continue during the next day.
FIB: The patched chip works fine. A detailed study of the results will be
done in the next week.
Beetle12MA0 (= modified Beetle 1.2 for the RICH option): The layout of the
modified front-ends is now available. Final submission checks will be done
in the next weeks.
Next steps for the upcoming weeks:
- temperature test with non-irradiated and irradiated Beetle 1.2 chips
(ENC, cold start, ...)
- analyze of the random trigger test
- overclocking tests with the Beetle
- analyze of the irradiated Beetle 1.2 pulse-shapes
