New in IGCS - Online Bibliographies:

Sources and studies on protest and dissent in pre-modern China

Ed./Corp.: Barend ter Haar, Univ. of Heidelberg, Germany
URL: http://sun.sino.uni-heidelberg.de/staff/bth/protest.doc
Language: English.

Self description: "This survey is not intended as a complete introduction
to the primary sources and secondary literature on the study of protest and
dissent. This would require a full-length book. I have also assumed that
the standard bibliographical tools are known to everybody. My aim is only
to provide some essential titles and to comment on some basic problems, as
a first guide through this hazardous field."

Description: Compiled in Aug. 1993, this annotated bibliography (MS Word
6.0 document of 6 pages) is an excellent starting point for students and
scholars exploring the history of protest and dissent in China.
