New in IGCS - Journals (http://www.sino.uni-heidelberg.de/igcs/igjourn.htm):

Women's Magazines from the Republican Period

Ed./Corp.: Barbara Mittler, Institute of Chinese Studies, Heidelberg University, Germany.
URL: http://www.sino.uni-heidelberg.de/womag/
Language: English.

Supplied note: We would like to introduce a new website, containing descriptions of a number of important Women's Magazines from the Republican Period from the collection of the Institute of Chinese Studies in Heidelberg and a bibliography on women's magazines in general and in China in particular. [...] The website is the product of an higher level undergraduate seminar taught at Heidelberg University in the summer of 2003. There is not much information in the secondary literature on these magazines and therefore, most of the information presented is based on a first (and cursory) reading of the magazines themselves. As far as possible, the institutional background and information on the editors and contributors to these magazines has been included, but many grey areas remain. It is our sincere hope that this website will continue to change and grow. The contributors to this website would be grateful to any readers willing to share any additional information they might have on any of these magazines, their editors or contributors. There is a "comments" button through which you can contact us and we will be happy to incorporate your contribution!

1939-1941); (2) Bibliography (Women's Magazines in China; Women's Magazines abroad; Women in Republican China); (3) Comments (email).
