Google News China (Beta)

Ed./Corp.: Google, Mountain View, CA, USA (Headquarters).
URL.: http://news.google.com/nwshp?hl=zh-CN&ned=cn
Language: Chinese (UTF-8, simplified).

Self description: Google News China presents information culled from approximately 1,000 [Chinese] news sources worldwide and automatically arranged to present the most relevant news first. Topics are updated continuously throughout the day, so you will see new stories each time you check the page. [...]

Description: For users inside the PR China only news sources that are approved by PRC government will be listed. This restriction is not in effect for users outside of China. Shortly after Google News China was launched in September 2004, a heated debate over this issue took place. For more information on Google and China please visit the DACHS archive at http://www.sino.uni-heidelberg.de/cgi-bin/acwww25/allegro.pl?db=dachs&expand=yes&maxkrztitel=20&TI1=google&modus=trunkiert. Google's own statement on this issue can be found in the Google Blog at http://www.google.com/googleblog/2004/09/china-google-news-and-source-inclusion.html.

Archive: Google News China can also be searched for news up to 30 days back.
