Dear SpiNNaker and Spikey developers,
in case anyone is interested, my benchmarking results for running a
binary associative memory on NM-MC1 and Spikey in comparison to NEST

See Chapter 5 for the benchmarking experiments, which consist of two
dimensional neuron parameter sweeps and a one-dimensional system
(associative memory) parameter sweep. Both implicitly test the
quality of the neuron model implementation.
To summarise the relevant insights: the results for NM-MC1 are very
promising with only small deviations compared to the reference runs
on NEST. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Spikey deviates very strongly from
the reference behaviour, shows severe noise and more-or-less erratic
results in the system parameter sweeps.
It will be interesting to run larger scale experiments, as well as
experiments on NM-PM1 next year. All source code required for
