I don't know who maintains the latex-project.org web site, but I'm guessing they are on this list ... On http://www.latex-project.org/ftp.html, under the "LaTeX as part of a TeX distribution" section, some updates would be highly desirable: 1) I'm uncomfortable with (even though I think I wrote it originally :): TeX Live is by common consensus the single easiest way I request: TeX Live is an easy way 2) Under "Unix, Linux": * teTeX is a complete TeX distribution for UNIX compatible systems, maintained by Thomas Esser. But teTeX is no longer maintained. I suggest replacing this item with "Please see TeX Live above." 3) Under "MacOS X": * MacTeX is a new TeX distribution for MacOS X, based on gwTeX by Gerben Wierda and XeTeX. There's a concise gwTeX installation guide by Will Robertson. Most of this has changed (not new, not based on gwTeX, Will's page is no longer active). New text: * MacTeX is a TeX distribution for MacOS X; it is TeX Live with the addition of a native Mac installer and some Mac-specific programs. 4) Under "Windows": * XEmTeX is an integrated TeX distribution for 32-bit Windows systems maintained by Fabrice Popineau. The link for XEmTeX leads nowhere useful. As far as I know Fabrice has never made a production release, unfortunately, so I suggest simply deleting this item. Thanks, Karl
