one follow up question: I'm not quite sure what a shorttitle is supposed to be
in contrast to toctitle or headtitle. do you mean shorttitle just as a means
to avoid specifying both toctitle and headtitle with the same value or could
there be a shorttitle and a toctitle and would that have any semantic meaning?
