Yes, that's exactly my case here. To be more verbose, I want to do
something like (pseudo code):

for i = 1,30 do
  \coffin_new:c{pkg i coffin}

to generate 30 individual coffins that later can be adressed and
processed in the same way.

Frank, thanks for pointing me at \cs_generate_variant:Nn; I already
foudn it but was not sure if this was the best way to go.

If no one else has needed it so far, I'll just add it to my package. I
only asked to see if there was a special reason that coffin names should
not be handled this way.
