I would not expect too much difference between TeX Live and MiKTeX: they
seem to have the same .ini files at present so should end up much the same.

(Aside. MiKTeX's handling of spaces in filenames is different from TeX
Live's so \jobname quoting with pdfTeX/XeTeX is not the same as for
LuaTeX! That's one reason our suggested .ini file for LuaTeX contains
the 'job name fix': that should probably not apply to MiKTeX, where a
different 'fix' should be applied.)
