Weekly OTIS and Beetle meeting, 13.12.2001, 14:00, ASIC lab meeting
room:

Participants: Daniel Baumeister, Sven Loechner, Michael Schmelling,
Uwe Stange, Ulrich Trunk, Dirk Wiedner

OTIS part:

  Uwe gave a short summary of the informal meeting with some members of
  the muon group during the LHCb-week at CERN. They are interested in an
  8 channels version of the OTIS with a fast output of the hitmask.

  Uwe Stange will summarize the possibilities of the cooperation and mail
  this to the muon group. Main feature should be: Smaller changes at the
  chip can be implemented by the OTIS group in Heidelberg. If there will
  be major changes, then the muon group must provide some staff here in
  Heidelberg.

Beetle part:

  Daniel present two new gain measurements (independent from each other)
  of the pipelinehomogeneity. It is obvious that there is up to now no
  variation between different columns in one channel. Otherwise there is
  a big variations between different channels. This isn't understood up
  till now and will be investigated in the next days.

  Also there will be some more measurements about the homogeneity with
  different pipeamp settings and also with negative pulses.

  Sven showed some simulation about the bias behaviour of the Beetle
  frontend. The bias behavior for a single channel between the programmed
  value and the actual value could be comprehended in the simulation. But
  there is still a lack between the programmed bias value and the total
  current for all 128 channels. This is not understand up to now.

  The following topics were fixed for the Beetle user review meeting
  (19.12.2001):

  Changes to the digital part -> U.T.
    - Position and length of the dataValid signal
    - DaisyChain readout (drop it or implement it)
    - Programing of Beetle (I2C) ID (hard wired?)
    - error encoding in readout header: which errors to flag?

  Changes to the analog part
    - location of power pads, power routing -> D.B., S.L.
    - new front ends                                 -> D.B., S.L.
    - analog output driver                           -> U.T.
    - mask registers for comparators and test pulse -> D.B.
    - modifications of the comparators               -> ? NIKHEF ?
    - reset & poweup-reset                           -> S.L.
    - low trigger rate                               -> D.B.
    - Testpulse + mask registers                     -> S.L.

  Mandatory bug fixes                                -> U.T.
