Hmm, I thought I'd gotten this mailer set up to do plain text /
ASCII---it's displaying this in a monospaced font as I type it....

But \halign is in text mode, right? then I'd've had to add $ $ or
\begin/end{math} for everything in it? That was one of the things which
I was trying really hard to avoid.
